Meet Our Doctors

Dr. Aileen Helton

I am amazed on how we have built so many great relationships with our patients since I opened Dentistry on 116 during the summer of 2007. I feel it is because of our belief  in open communication with our patients in order to give them the best possible care. I understand that going to the dentist may be difficult for some people and will take the time to listen to your concerns. I feel lucky to be in the dental profession because I am able to meet so many people and help them with their dental health.  I love making a difference in a person's life by not only helping them achieve a beautiful, healthy smile, but also by helping them be a part of a happy dental family.

Education

Continuing education allows me to keep up with latest advances in dentistry. I believe in always learning and evolving in my profession. Whether it involves straightening teeth with invisible braces, restoring a fearful patient's smile under oral sedation, or educating patients about how periodontal disease is related to heart health, continuing education allows me to offer the best dental care to my patients.

Outside the Practice

My husband, Patrick, and I grew up in Munster, Indiana and met in high school. We live in Carmel with our two young sons and daughter, Bruce, Luke, and Ruby, who make us laugh every day. Our collie hound, Rolo is our sweet guard dog. We are close with our families and enjoy spending time with family and friends. We love going out to restaurants, watching movies, and going to music concerts. We both are huge Chicago sports fans. We root for the Bears, Blackhawks, Bulls, and Cubs.  I can name the 1985 Super Bowl Champion Chicago Bears players by their jersey number and I am a huge Michael Jordan fan.

I am excited to join Dr. Helton as part of the Dentistry on 116 team. I also believe in having an open, honest dialogue with patients about their dental care.  By discussing the concerns of patients openly, whether it is something they would like to change about their smile, or what to expect during a procedure, I believe providing the most information possible is the best way to help patients reach and maintain optimal oral health.

Education

  • Bachelor of Science in Biology, Butler University  2002
  • Doctor of Dental Surgery, Indiana University School of Dentistry 2006

By educating ourselves, we educate others. It is of utmost importance to stay up to date in any profession, but dentistry is always changing and evolving.  I strive to continuously learn and improve my skills in order to better care for my patients.  With continuing dental education and the utilization of the latest dental technology at Dentistry on 116, we can create the best possible experience for our patients.

Outside the Practice

My husband, Kenneth, and I live on the northeast side of Indianapolis with our daughter Bristol. We also have a fur baby named Marly, who is a Labrador retriever.  We enjoy family outings, traveling and spending time outdoors in any way we can, including going to Lake Tippecanoe in the summertime.  Dentistry has been a major part of my life and I have several family members who are dentists.  I grew up in Marion, Indiana and also come from a musical family including three generations of ukulele players.
